    The Chinese built tug Svitzer Tyr is now in operation in Scandinavia after a long delivery voyage from Qingdao. The tug is stationed in the Göteborg area.

    The Svitzer Tyr is an ice-strengthened multipurpose tug fitted with large towing winches. The Svitzer Tyr. Photo: Bent Mikkelsen The tug has a length of 33.3 metres and a beam of 13 metres. It is powered by a double Niigata plant (type 8L28HX) developing 4.044 kW and a service speed of 12.5 knots. The maximal bollard pull is 89 tons.
