FESCO Transportation Group says that since commencing operations in August 2009, its FESCO Moscow Shuttle (FMS) has sent 2,500 block trains from Vladivostok and delivered 350,000 TEU to Moscow.

Over the past eight years, the weekly number of such container trains operated on the route has risen tenfold - from one to ten, reported PortNews.

FMS delivers cargoes from Southeast Asia through Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port (VCSP) to Silikatnaya station in the Moscow region. FMS is the first FESCO's block train from Vladivostok to Moscow. Currently, two more trains regularly run on this route, to Khovrino and Kupavna stations.

In February 2017, it launched a faster version of the service from Vladivostok, FMS Express. Shorter transit times by rail together with less time to wait for loading in VCSP and optimised document flow for customs formalities are part of FESCO's "Shanghai - Moscow in 20 Days" project.
