FEDEX Corp has acquired Colombia's Cargex SA, an air freight forwarder specialising in perishables exports, as well as customs broker Agencias de Aduanas Aduanamos SA Nivel 2, a Cargex affiliate, reports New York's FreightWaves. The acquisition strengthens FedEx's forwarding and brokerage capabilities in Colombia and across Latin America, the company said. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The deal is expected to close later this year, FedEx said. Bogota-based Cargex has operations in five Colombian cities. It will operate as a unit of FedEx Logistics.
