One passenger lost his life and another was in serious condition after a loaded vehicle being loaded onto the 'GNV Atlas' fell from the loading bridge crushing two people who were underneath on June 17, 2018, at 6.15 p.m.in the Immacolatella port in Naples. A 79 year old Indonesian citizen lost his life; a second passenger of Indonesian nationality was admitted to the Cardarelli hospital with serious injuries. The accident happened when the people waiting to get on board the 'GNV Atlas' for the Naples-Palermo sailing. Investigators were called to survey and assess the case.
