A fire broke out on the AZOV CONFIDENCE general cargo ship on the evening of November 2, shortly after sailing from the Black Sea to Novorossiysk, Samsun Turkey. The ship's Ukrainian engineer (rank unknown) burst into flames and jumped into the sea. AZOV GÜVEN returned to Samsun, SAR failed. There are no details about the fire and possibly damages. On November 4, the ship was still anchored off Samsun.
According to the information received, there was an explosion on the Marshall Islands-flagged cargo ship off the coast of Samsun the previous night. Russian national Aleksander A.(42), who was injured in the explosion, which was learned to have occurred in the fuel tank in the engine room of the ship, was taken to Samsun Training and Research Hospital and was discharged after receiving outpatient treatment.
