    EVERGREEN and Cosco has replaced its 3,400-TEU to 4,200-TEU ships to 8,000-TEU to 9,000 TEU on the Far East-ECSA service (ECSA)

    EVERGREEN and Cosco has replaced its 3,400-TEU to 4,200-TEU ships to 8,000-TEU to 9,000 TEU on the Far East-ECSA service (ECSA) with the first vessel to join by early May.

    The larger of the vessels, the new 8,452-TEU Ever Liven, will be the first followed by the 8,501-TEU Cosco Vietnam which will move from the Far East-west coast South America rotation on charter to MSC as Alian-A Itapoa, with a further vessel of similar size vessel, the Cosco Indonesia. These will be followed by two further newbuildings, the Ever Valor and Ever Value of 8,827-TEU, reports Alphaliner.

    The move to upgrade capacity on the FE-ECSA route began with Maersk Line and Hamburg Sud on ASA 1/NGX service with a phase-in of the first of the high reefer newbuilding, the 9,600-TEU the Cap San Nicholas by June 2013.
