EUROMONEY magazine has announced that Manila based International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) has been voted the best managed company in Asia in the Transportation/Shipping sector.
The results of its Best Managed and Governed Companies-Asia poll 2013 are based on the responses received from 130 equity analysts at some of the largest investment banks and research houses in the Asia Pacific region, who nominated a total of 207 companies.
Analysts were asked to name which companies were the most impressive across a number of areas, including management accessibility, accounting transparency and corporate governance procedures.
Analysts praised ICTSI for its leading role in promoting transparent communication to investors, citing that "the company has a clear strategy and good visibility." Analysts also noted that "ICTSI senior management is open to all questions and requests from investors and analysts regarding the company's performance and external relations are properly maintained."
On receiving the award, ICTSI chairman and president Enrique Razon said: "It comes at an opportune time as we are celebrating our 25th anniversary. We are also thankful for the continued trust and confidence of the public represented by the equity analysts who participated in the survey."
