On Aug 16, 2018, at 9 a.m. a fire broke out in the engine room of the 'Arcadie', 1999 ts (EU-No.: 06002226), on the Rhine at river km 825. The fire brigades Rees, Emmerich and Niedermörmter were called to the ship near the former NATO-berth at Haffen. The vessel could be maneuvered out of the fairway and dropped anchor so that the fire brigade could start its attack from the side. The fire department deployed two fire boats and a multi-purpose boat and 30 firefighters. The work was difficult due to the confined conditions below deck and the resulting extreme heat, but could be completed successfully. The ship which had come from Duisburg berthed in the Konigin Wilhelmina Port in Rotterdam on Aug 17 at 3.35 a.m.
