The 'Fakarava', en route from Hamburg to Kamsar, Guinea, in ballast, suffered engine failure in position 50 25 39.3N, 001 45 15.42W, approximately 17 miles north of Poole, on June 1, 2018. The vessel was carrying 3.232 metric tonnes of fuel oil, 105 metric tonnes of low sulphur, 263 metric tonnes of low sulphur marine gas oil. It was under way again and making good progress since completion of its repair works. No tug assistance was required.
