The 'Atlantic Peach' en route from Yalova to Port Said suffered engine failure and drifted towards the shore off Karabiga in the Marmara Sea,on Sep 27, 2018, at 10 p.m. A Coastal Safety tug and a technical team attended the scene to ensure the vessel's and marine traffic safety. Subsequently, the vessel dropped anchor under supervision of the coastal safety tug at Cape Karabiga anchorage on Sep 28 at 5 a.m. The vessel's departure permission has been cancelled until the completion of permanent repairs by the crew. On Sep 29 the ship was still moored in pos. 40° 29.18' N 027° 16.67' E.
