EMIRATES SkyCargo, the freight arm of Dubai's national airline Emirates, has joined the UAE's efforts to help victims of the deadly floods in the southern Indian state of Kerala by carrying 175 tonnes of relief cargo to the worst hit areas. The air cargo carrier will operate a dozen flights to transport the relief goods that have been donated by various UAE-based businesses and organisations. The supplies will be flown to the state's capital Thiruvananthapuram - the nearest online Emirates station to the areas most affected by the flood, TradeArabia News Service reported.

The goods, including lifesaving boats, blankets and dry food items, will be handed over to local flood relief and aid organisations for distribution.
