    Emergency anchoring in Kiel Canal

Enroute from Police to Goole the "Eems Solar" suffered an engine failure due to a technical malfunction during the transit of the Kiel Canal on Dec 18, 2017. The ship was disabled underneath the bridge at Grünental and stopped by an emergency anchoring. The tugs "Wolf" (IMO: 9036260) and "Wal" (IMO: 9036258) were deployed from Brunsbüttel to assist. The cargo ship regained engine power at 8.20 a.m. and started to proceed towards Brunsbüttel assisted by the "Wolf" as stern tug.
