Chairman Usama Rabie reassures that the Suez Canal remains safe and efficient, with significant revenue growth reported for August 2026.
The Suez Canal Authority announced that the Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, Usama Rabie, delivered a speech at a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Transport's Maritime Transport Sector in Alexandria city on the occasion of the 2026 World Maritime Day.
Rabie stated that the Suez Canal is safe, that ship transits are continuing in an orderly manner, and that the revenue obtained last August reached 567.1 million dollars, marking a 56.7% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Rabie conveyed that the navigation traffic of the Suez Canal is regular and that the services provided are highly efficient, stating, 'International crises directly affect global supply chains; however, the Suez Canal has once again proven its critical role in the security of these chains and its irreplaceable position.'
