The Dutch government has now confirmed that the civilian rescue vessel 'Sea-Watch 3' was correctly registered and met safety standards. For about a month, the rescue ship was detained in Malta. The Maltese government prevented the vessel of the civilian rescue organization Sea-Watch from leaving the port of Valletta. But the government has already known for a week that the ship has all the necessary approvals which was made clear in an inquiry report and a letter to the Maltese Government. The report was written by inspectors appointed by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. A letter with the results of the examination to the Maltese Government was dated on July 24. The investigation showed that all the requirements for registering as a pleasure boat in the flag register of the Netherlands have been met. The report clearly confirmed that everything on the ship meets and even exceeds the requirements of the Dutch flag, said Pia Klemp, the captain of the ship. She should have been on the mission when the vessel was intercepted. The action of the government violated human rights and ethics and morality according to Klemp, on the back of the poorest and weakest. The Maltese have always referred to the Dutch authorities for the unclear approvals, but now that the Dutch proved that everything was alright, the Maltese government said it's still not enough. Also a reconnaissance plane from Sea-Watch may not start.
