    India’s role in the dry bulk trade has shifted in recent years, with iron ore exports declining and dry bulk imports surging. Indian major bulk imports accounted for 7% of the world total in 2012, up from 2% in 2006. Growth in India’s major bulk imports has also accounted for 15% of global import growth in the same period, behind only China which drove 39% of the increase.
