Intoxicated master ran ship aground Coming from Salacgriva, the "Kaisa" ran aground in the afternoon of June 8, 2014, at 3.20 p.m. in the Øre Sound off the entrance of Helsingborg's bulk port.  Short time before the Coast Guard was alerted, the ship mananged to back off with own power.  The Air Patrol 501 was called to the scene and found that no oil leaked from the ship.  The ship docked in port at 3.15 p.m. The police was called for breathalyzer testings of the crew by the Coasguard who suspected that alcohol had played a role in the incident.  The Lithuanian master turned out to be heavily intoxicated with an alcohol level of 2,7 per thousand. He was ttaken in arrest. The captain, aged 46, admitted in a hearing that he had been at the helm of the ship but denied crimes when he stated that he drank alcohol after the grounding.
