DRONES are now banned from flying over 10 historic sites in the US, including the Statue of Liberty and Mount Rushmore.

The move comes as the US Federal Aviation and Department of the Interior (DOI) have agreed to restrict unmanned aircraft operating within 400 feet of sites that include the Hoover and other dams, national parks and memorials, London's Air Cargo News reported.

This is marks first time the agency has imposed drone restrictions, although, flights are already banned over military sites.
