In the night of July 1, 2018, the 'Hegemann 1' suffered damage west of Borkum island near the Horsborn Plate and had to enter the port of Emden for a damage survey. During the inspection of the underwater hull by divers a damage was found. On July 3 the ship entered the Emder Yard EWD for repairs. The ppolice investigated of a water pollution which was remakred on July 3 was related to the ship accident.
