On Aug 6, 2018, the sailings of the 'Sankaty' at 6:45 a.m. frin Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven and at 10:15 a.m. from Vineyard Haven to Woods Hole voyage had both been cancelled due to mechanical issues. A problem with the shore power connection resulted the ferry's batteries being drained.
