DP World joins AmCham Brasil, enhancing its port and logistics expansion in Brazil with a significant investment in the Port of Santos.

DP World has officially joined AmCham Brasil - the American Chamber of Commerce for Brazil - marking a significant milestone in the group's ongoing expansion across the country's port and logistics sectors. The move coincides with a period of substantial investment, including a 1.6 billion Brazilian reais commitment at the Port of Santos and the continued growth of its logistics services network across Brazil's principal trade centres.

DP World has operated in Brazil for over ten years, with its business anchored at the container terminal in the Port of Santos and supported by an expanding logistics network across the country. The group currently maintains six logistics offices - in Santos, Sao Paulo, Campinas, Itajai, Curitiba, and Porto Alegre - delivering freight forwarding, contract logistics, and multimodal transport solutions to Brazil's major trade and industrial hubs. Port and logistics operations function in close alignment, enabling DP World to offer clients an integrated suite of services encompassing inland transportation, freight forwarding, contract logistics, and access to its global maritime network.

DP World established its presence at the Port of Santos in 2013 and is now advancing a 1.6 billion reais upgrade programme aimed at elevating the terminal's annual container handling capacity to 1.7 million TEUs by the end of 2026, with a further target of 2.1 million TEUs - reinforcing Santos' standing as one of Brazil's most vital international trade gateways.

Fabio Siccherino, CEO of DP World Brazil, stated that Brazil is a core strategic market for DP World, and that membership in AmCham Brasil provides a valuable new platform through which the group can engage with the businesses and organisations that drive trade and investment in the country. He added that, as DP World continues to grow its port and logistics capabilities, the goal is to build new partnerships, deepen relationships with existing clients, and help more Brazilian businesses access global markets.

AmCham Brasil is the largest American chamber of commerce outside the United States, representing more than 3,500 member companies across 16 cities, with a combined economic footprint equivalent to approximately 33 percent of Brazil's GDP. The organisation is dedicated to improving the business environment, facilitating dialogue between the private sector and government, and advancing trade and investment between Brazil and the United States.

Through its membership, DP World will engage with both domestic and multinational companies across a broad range of industries, sharing its perspective on global trade and supply chain dynamics while identifying new opportunities to serve clients through its growing Brazilian operations network.

This membership extends a broader pattern of engagement between DP World and American chambers of commerce across the Americas. The group joined the American Chamber of Commerce Northeast in Monterrey, Mexico in 2024.

DP World operates across 85 countries worldwide, with a total port handling capacity of approximately 110 million TEUs and more than 300 freight forwarding offices globally. Underpinned by this expansive international network, the group has positioned its growing Brazilian operations as an integral node within a connected system of ports, logistics infrastructure, and trade markets that spans the globe.
