DUBAI's DP World has announced it has achieved a record annual throughput at Mundra 470 nautical miles north of rival Mumbai, of 1.1 million TEU in 2016, a 21 per cent year-on-year increase.
DP World Mundra has become the first and only terminal at Mundra port to cross the million TEU mark, reported the Hindu's Business Line.
The terminal achieved a berth productivity rate of 88.62 in 2016, accompanied by a 17.56 per cent increase in capacity utilisation.
The gross crane rate (GCR), at 31 moves an hour, continued to be on par with international industry standards in 2016, the company informed.
