On July 3, 2018, at 4.20 a.m. the 'Gennadiy Abramov' allided with a helicopter pad on the top of the passenger terminal in Downtown St. Petersburg on the Neva at kilometer mark 1384 near the English Embankment, while sailing downstream. The terminal was damaged, and also the ship suffered ripped off railings and a two meter long dent at starboard side. While moving further downstream, the ship allided with the left pier of Blagoveschenskiy Bridge, suffering a dented bulwark and portside bridge wing. The ship arrived at St. Petersburg and had come from Cherepovets with a cargo of steel.
