The LR2 tanker T.Riva has joined Riva Tankercilik's fleet, registered under the Turkish flag, enhancing Turkey's maritime capabilities.
The new generation LR2 type tanker named T.Riva, which joined the fleet of DİTAŞ subsidiary Riva Tankercilik A.Ş., has been registered with the Turkish International Ship Registry (TUGS) and is now flying the Turkish flag. This development was announced via the official social media account of the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs.
According to the announcement from the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs, the T.Riva, which has a carrying capacity of 115,074 DWT and a length of 250 meters, was built in 2026 and has joined the Turkish-flagged tanker fleet. The statement included expressions of 'Congratulations.'
The LR2 class tanker, purchased by DİTAŞ in June, will operate under Riva Tankercilik A.Ş. With the new vessel flying the Turkish flag, the company's international product tanker fleet has also been strengthened.
LR2 type tankers stand out with their high capacity and operational efficiency in the transportation of medium and long-distance petroleum products and chemical cargoes. The transition of T.Riva to the Turkish flag is considered one of the significant steps towards increasing the tonnage of the Turkish maritime trade fleet.
