A distress signal issued by the 'Industrial Challenger' enroute from Mumbai to Port Klang off Cochin, which was received in Lisbon turned out to have been a false alarm. The freighter crew was now investigating what happened. The emergency signal sent by the freighter, via satellite, was received on Aug 15, 2018, around noon by the MRCC in Lisbon. It led to a request for assistance to the Indian maritime authorities.
