The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that the Sea Wolf-I/2026 Exercise will be conducted with 100 ships in the Black Sea, Aegean Sea, and Eastern Mediterranean from September 20 to 25.
"SEA WOLF" TIME IN THE BLUE HOMELAND
The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) will showcase its capabilities in three seas with the Sea Wolf-I/2026 Exercise starting today. The exercise will involve 100 naval units, including frigates, corvettes, and fast attack boats from the Turkish Navy inventory. A total of 14,000 personnel engaged in the defense of the Blue Homeland will execute challenging scenarios as part of the exercise.
The Sea Wolf-I/2026 Exercise of the Turkish Armed Forces began today. The exercise, which will be conducted simultaneously in the Black Sea, Marmara Sea, Aegean Sea, and Eastern Mediterranean, involves 100 ships, 50 aircraft, and 14,000 personnel. The Distinguished Observer Day of the exercise will take place on September 24 aboard TCG Anadolu in the Eastern Mediterranean.
SIMULTANEOUS EXERCISE IN FOUR SEAS
The MSB stated that within the framework of Sea Wolf-I/2026, naval forces will conduct operational readiness training and live-fire exercises.
In the ministry's weekly briefing on September 17, the objectives of the exercise included enhancing decision-making capabilities in a multi-threat environment and testing interoperability methods among forces.
The extensive geographical area of the exercise stretches from the Black Sea through Marmara and Aegean to the Eastern Mediterranean. The MSB's official announcement on September 18 revealed that the general exercise schedule is set for September 20-25.
DISTINGUISHED OBSERVER DAY ON SEPTEMBER 24 IN THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN
A notable aspect of the exercise concerning Cyprus will be the Distinguished Observer Day to be held in the Eastern Mediterranean. According to the MSB's statement, the event will take place on September 24 aboard TCG Anadolu.
So far, the ministry has not disclosed which foreign military or diplomatic representatives will participate in the Distinguished Observer Day.
SEA WOLF-II WAS CONDUCTED IN JUNE
The Navy had previously conducted the major exercise Sea Wolf-II/2026 from June 4 to 14 in the Black Sea, Marmara Sea, Aegean Sea, and Eastern Mediterranean.
The June exercise involved 125 naval units, 60 aircraft, and 18,000 personnel, with the Distinguished Observer Day also held in the Eastern Mediterranean aboard TCG Anadolu.
The currently ongoing Sea Wolf-I/2026 will last until September 25.
