DEHUKAM and Çağ University signed a protocol on Dec 17, 2025, to enhance maritime law research and education in the Eastern Mediterranean.
On December 17, 2025, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Ankara University Maritime Law National Research Center (DEHUKAM) and Çağ University to enhance collaboration in the field of maritime law.
This protocol represents the first initiative following the establishment of the Eastern Mediterranean Maritime Law Application and Research Center (DADHAM) at Çağ University on November 24, 2025.
During the signing ceremony, hosted by Çağ University Rector Murat Koç, the potential for joint academic studies, educational activities, and application-oriented projects between the two institutions was discussed.
In his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Koç emphasized that the cooperation protocol with DEHUKAM would strengthen DADHAM's academic capacity, aiming to position it as a leading center in the Eastern Mediterranean by leveraging DEHUKAM's institutional knowledge and expertise.
DEHUKAM Director Mustafa Başkara expressed satisfaction with the establishment of DADHAM and its operation with a qualified academic staff. He noted that one of DEHUKAM's core missions is to enhance human resource capacity in maritime law, highlighting that such centers significantly contribute to Turkey's maritime vision and the understanding of the Blue Homeland.
As part of the signing ceremony, DADHAM Director Sami Doğru presented the center's founding purpose and areas of activity. The presentation underscored the importance of academic and application-oriented studies to be conducted in collaboration with DEHUKAM in the Eastern Mediterranean, which holds strategic geopolitical and legal significance.
