The 'Makassar Highway' reached the port of Oskarshamn on Aug 2 at 9 a.m. Previously two additional Swedish tugs, the 'Herbert' (IMO: 7407556) and 'Oskar' (MMSI: 265568280), have been connected to support the Danish 'Blue Antares', one at the aft and one at the side. The rescue service Oskarshamn blocked the passage between Liljeholmskajen and Klubbholmen as of 07:00 a.m. until the casualty was secured at the Ocean Quay. On the way towards the port stretches of volatile oil and some lumps of oil were released from the ship. The Coast Guard's environmental rescue vessels followed the convoy all the way. A surveillance aircraft was launched to find out if more oil was coming out. Immediately after berthing oil booms were to be laid out to prevent more oil from leaking into the waters.
