The move extends the company's ground network into a region where it previously held no owned presence. Both companies have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
Founded in 1927, Drummond Distribution is a family-owned business that has served as a Dachser partner since 2008, connecting Scottish customers to Dachser's European Logistics network. In 2025, the company generated revenue of approximately GBP 20 million and employed around 175 people. It operates five locations across Scotland's densely populated Central Belt, the corridor between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The acquisition brings roughly 46,500 square meters of warehouse space into the Dachser network, along with a fleet of around 100 trucks and 80 trailers. Because Dachser currently maintains no locations within this region, the transaction strengthens network coverage without creating overlapping structures �X a distinction that translates into denser groupage routing and more reliable transit for freight moving between Scotland and continental Europe.
For forwarding partners and cargo owners routing shipments through the region, the integration adds a directly controlled node to a network that spans much of the continent. Consolidating an established Scottish operation under Dachser's systems supports consistent documentation, tracking, and scheduling across cross-border lanes, reducing the friction that often accompanies handoffs between separate carriers.
Business continuity will be maintained under the existing management team, led by Damon Burns. As the current owners gradually transition out of the business, the management team will report to Mark Rollinson, Managing Director of Dachser UK & Ireland. This continuity of leadership is intended to preserve local client relationships and operational know-how built over nearly a century, while aligning the Scottish operation with Dachser's wider standards and technology.
The acquisition reflects Dachser's broader strategy of reinforcing its owned European ground network through targeted, non-overlapping expansion.
