On July 29, 2018, at 2.15 p.m. the 'Stolt Sanderling' suffered engine trouble eight miles SSE of Beachy Head. The tanker was en route from Rotterdam to Dublin in the TSS southwest bound lane, in position 50 35 45.2 N, 000 20 49.8 E. After an alarm on shaft and engine the ship stopped and the cylinders were checked. At 3 p.m. the repairs were completed, and the vessel resumed its voyage. It was carrying a cargo of 3,149 tonnes of Fatty Acid Methyl Esters.
