    Instead of docking at Amber Cove in Puerto Plata on Aug 13, 2018, the 'Carnival Horizon' diverted to New York due to technical problems. The ship berthed in the morning of Aug 16 and sailed in the evening, bound to Bermuda. Initially it had been stated that dense smoke development from a burning landfill in Puerto Plata had caused the change of course. The ship had on board 5.366 passengers.
