The 'Carnival Horizon' smashed into a west side Manhattan dock in the early morning of Aug 28, 2018. The ship damaged two metal support beams and a section of the parking level above the dock while attempting to dock at Pier 90, located at West 50th Street, at about 5:50 a.m. The cruise ship only had minor damage to its bow and none of the passengers or staff aboard the ship were injured. The passengers were able to get off the ship and the sailing schedule should remain the same.A contractor was expected to repair the damage to the cruise ship dock.
