    Costa Pacifica damaged in docking manoever On Dec 11, 2012, at 8.15 a.m. the "Costa Pacifica" with around 2000 passengers on board, allided with a dolphins, pilings which are used as an enlengthening of quays too small for long ships, during a docking manoever in the port of Marseille.  The accident was caused by strong winds of 25 knots.  The ship suffered a gash of eight metres length above the water line, and the hull was ripped.  Repairs were carried out in the run of the day.  The ship had come from Savona and was destined for Barcelona after the call at Marseille.  The sailing which was scheduled for 6 p.m. was postponed to Dec 12.
