Containers taken off by helicopter

One by one, the containers transported by the "Kea Trader" are being extracted from the ship. This long-drawn-out job has received the reinforcement of a super helicopter since Aug 24. The Sikorsky Skycrane helicopter had started in the autonomous port of Nouméa on Aug 21. The transshipment of the boxes was started in the middle of the week thanks to weather which was better than the previous days. Within two days, 37 containers could be hoisted from the vessel and loaded onto the "Clipper New York" and "Industrial Headlands". 79 containers out of 700 were meanwhile taken off. The helicopter will have as a rear base Wabao south of Maré and about 90 kilometers from Durand Reef.
