A Port Otago worker sustained injuries when he was struck by a container being loaded onto the 'Maersk Inverness' on Sep 23, 2018, about 11.30 a.m. He was then taken off the ship using a man-cage slung under a container crane, to a waiting ambulance. Although the man was able to walk, he was taken to Dunedin Hospital for a checkup, in case there were any internal injuries. The injuries were described as moderate. Loading of the 'Maersk Inverness' was stopped following the accident, and resumed about 7 a.m. on Sep 24. The ship was due to depart about noon, once loading was completed, which meant it would be about 24 hours behind schedule. Maritime New Zealand investigating staff were sent to Port Chalmers. https://www.odt.co.nz/new...
