About 1.87 million twenty-foot-equivalent-units (TEUs) of container cargo moved in and out of seaports here last month, up 2.3 percent from the same month a year earlier, according to the data by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. The amount of import-export cargo increased 3.1 percent on-year to 1.14 million TEUs last month, while transshipment cargo rose 3 percent over the same period to 691,000 TEUs, the ministry said.The port in Busan handled 1.38 million TEUs last month, up 0.8 percent from a year earlier. The ports in Gwangyang and Incheon also saw their container cargo handling grow 17.2 percent and 4.8 percent on-year to 188,000 TEUs and 179,000 TEUs, respectively.Source: Yonhap
