    CMA CGM rate hikes June 1 on Asian boxes bound for North Africa

    FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has levied increases in freight rates from June 1 from Asia to ports in North Africa.

    From that date rates from Asia to Algeria will be US$1,900 per TEU, $3,600 per FEU and $3,675 per FEU high cube. (In this case, there will be a $50 per TEU port congestion surcharge at the Port of Bejaiia.)

    From June 1 rates from Asia to Tunisia will be $1,650 per TEU, $3,100 per FEU and $3,175 per FEU high cube.

    From that date, rates from Asia to Libya will be $1,600 per TEU, $3,000 per FEU and $3,075 per FEU high cube.

    From that date, rates from Asia to Morocco will be $1,550 per TEU, $2,900 per FEU and $2,975 per FEU high cube.

    All outports in Asia and North Africa will be subject to additional surcharges.
