APM TERMINALS has announced that it has signed a deal to sell 24 per cent of its APM Terminals Zeebrugge operation to China Shipping Terminal Development, a sister company of China Shipping Container Line, while retaining the controlling interest.

The AP Moller unit owns 75 per cent of APM Terminals Zeebrugge after it sold 25 per cent of the operation to Shanghai International Port Group in 2010.

Zeebrugge is the fifth-busiest port in Northern Europe, and APM Terminals handles 17 per cent of its traffic.
