    SINGAPORE Changi Airport's airfreight throughput in May grew 'moderately' at 1.8 per cent to reach 180,490 tonnes, compared to the same period last year. In the first five months of the year, the airport handled a total of 870,000 tonnes of cargo.

    Last year, the Lion City's airfreight throughput totalled 2.13 million tonnnes.

    As at 1 June 2018, more than 100 airlines operate at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to some 400 cities in about 100 countries and territories worldwide. With more than 7,200 weekly scheduled flights, an aircraft takes off or lands at Changi roughly once every 80 seconds.
