Cathay Cargo's new Manage Booking tool empowers freight forwarders with real-time control over booking changes, enhancing operational efficiency.
Cathay Cargo has introduced Manage Booking, a new feature on its online platform that gives freight forwarders real-time control over booking changes, Cathay Pacific has announced.
The tool allows users to update shipper or consignee details, adjust flights and dates, and modify shipment sizes directly online. More complex requests will continue to be handled by Cathay Cargo specialists. The carrier stated that the upgrade addresses a longstanding industry challenge by reducing reliance on phone calls and manual workflows.
Manage Booking provides a centralized dashboard for real-time updates, preview functions to show cost impacts before confirmation, and automated notifications to keep stakeholders informed. Director of Cargo Dominic Perret mentioned that the initiative reflects Cathay's commitment to customer-centric digitalization and aims to make forwarders' operations more transparent and efficient.
The launch follows other digital initiatives, including real-time customs clearance status via IATA's ONE Record protocol, intelligent tools to reduce heavyweight cargo planning time, and Cargo Connect to digitize workflows worldwide. Cathay stated that these innovations demonstrate its goal of becoming the world's best air cargo carrier.
