    Catamaran sidelined after engine breakdown

Catamaran ferry services between Malta and Sicily will not run until Dec 16, 2017. Services have been cancelled due to a technical problem with the "Jean de la Valette". All passengers booked were requested to keep contact with the offices or wait for further updates to be published on the company's website. The catamaran was forced to cut its crossing to Sicily short in the morning of Dec 12, with passengers being told the vessel would be returning to Valletta due to technical difficulties. Engineers would inspect the vessel with a view of returning it to service. The breakdown however turned out to be more complex than first expected, with engineers discovering engine damage that would take days to fix.
