    Nova-D, 90 metres dry cargo ship drifted aground today at 14:30 LMT when tried to leave the berth for better sheltering from SW storm.

    Nova-D, 90 metres dry cargo ship drifted aground today at 14:30 LMT when tried to leave the berth for better sheltering from SW storm.Ship arrived to Amac Pier of Eregli port for unloading the timber cargo that was loaded from Sochi, Russia.According to Turkish maritime news portal www.denizhaber.com, the ship had some 450 tons of cargo remaining on board when strong SW winds made it impossible to remain at the berth.

    Captain of the vessel, resorting the situation, aimed to leave the berth for a better sheltering position at anchorage. But soon after leaving the berth, strong winds drifted the ship aground just near the berth.

    The crew on 10 persons, including Turkish nationalities, were ecavuated.
