BYD accelerates UK expansion with a luxury supercar launch and plans for an ultra-fast charging network, as reported by Caixin.
Chinese EV giant BYD is accelerating its UK expansion with the launch of a luxury all-electric supercar and plans for an ultra-fast charging network, reported Caixin.
At last week's Goodwood Festival of Speed, BYD unveiled the Denza Z, a premium all-electric supercar priced from GBP142,900 ($191,400). The model, marketed under its Denza brand, marks a milestone in BYD's UK operations, which began with commercial vehicles in 2013 and expanded to passenger cars in 2023.
The company also announced plans to build an ultra-fast charging network to counter high electricity costs, part of a broader strategy to strengthen its foothold in the non-U auto market.
Analysts said the aggressive overseas push reflects BYD's reliance on international growth to offset a sharp downturn in domestic sales.
