The 'Manitoulin' struck the ship arrester cable in the Welland canal lock No.1, off Port Weller, Ontario, in position 43 13 03.3N, 79 12 48.7W, on May 28, 2018, at 4.45 p.m. The seaway was closed for about eight hours. No damage to the vessel was reported. It arrived at Hamilton on May 29 at 09.20 a.m.
