The 'Harriet' ran aground at the West coast of Mudyug island in the White Sea in the afternoon of March 15 , 2018. The accident happened shortly after leaving Arkhangelsk with 2.0000 tons of coal on board, destined for Terneuzen. The bulkcarrier was proceeding in ice, with an icebreaker ahead which suffered an engine blackout. The bulkcarrier was then moved with ice floe from fairway to shallows. As of Mar 19, the vessel was still hard aground. An underwater survey was to be carried out on Mar 20, two salvage options were under consideration: either to lighter the ship or attempt to refloat it with the help of icebreakers.
