China has barred Manus founders from leaving as regulators assess Meta's $2 billion acquisition, according to the Financial Times.
China has denied exit visas to two AI startup founders of Manus as regulators review Meta's US$2 billion acquisition of the firm, reports London's Financial Times.
Manus chief executive Xiao Hong and chief scientist Ji Yichao were summoned to a meeting in Beijing this month with the National Development and Reform Commission, the FT said, citing people familiar with the matter.
Following the meeting, the executives were informed that they could not leave China while the review is underway, though they remain free to travel domestically.
Manus is seeking legal and consulting support to resolve the situation, according to the reports.
