    ATLAS Air Worldwide Holding has raised its earnings outlook for 2018, following a strong performance at the beginning of the year

    ATLAS Air Worldwide Holding has raised its earnings outlook for 2018, following a strong performance at the beginning of the year. 'We expect our adjusted income from continuing operations, net of taxes, to rise 35 per cent to 40 per cent compared with 2017 adjusted net income of US$133.7 million, an increase from our prior outlook of low- to mid-30 per cent growth,' the aircraft lessor was quoted as saying in a report by London's Air Cargo News.

    The company said in an investor statement that it now anticipates second quarter adjusted income from continuing operations, net of taxes, to rise by 40 per cent to 45 per cent compared with is first quarter net income of $23.8 million.

    Earlier, the company had forecast growth of 35 per cent to 40 per cent.

    The company had a flying start to the year with several deals announced. Both Panalpina and DHL Global Forwarding have expanded their air freight operations with Atlas Air, it has continued to role out aircraft for Amazon, and Polar Air has added new Japan freighter flights.
