SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday fell a further 6.2 per cent to US$710 per TEU, while the Shanghai-Mediterranean rates dipped two per cent to $877 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI). Shanghai-US west coast rates fell three per cent to $1,5665 per FEU while China-US east coast slipped 2.3 per cent to $1,566 per FEU.
