Asia-Europe rate rises 2.8pc to US$888/TEU, falls 3.8pc to USWC

SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday rose 2.8 per cent to US$888 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).

Asia-Mediterranean trade remained unchanged at $738 per TEU. Asia to the US west coast dropped 3.8 per cent week-over-week to $1,465 per FEU while those to the east coast inched up 0.3 per cent to $2,425 per FEU.
