SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday recorded only a slight decline to US$580 per TEU. Asia-Mediterranean rates ticked down slightly by 1 per cent to $715 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai-US west coast were up 4.2 per cent at $1,368 per FEU while China-US east coast increased 1.7 per cent to $2,374 per FEU.
