SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday remained flat at US$996 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI). Asia-Mediterranean trade rose 3.1 per cent to $997 per TEU. Asia to US west coast increased 2.7 per cent to $1,933 per FEU while those to the east coast up four per cent to $3,119 per FEU.
